Barth's short post after Infiniminer, 9 July 2009: he says he is done making "these" games and thanks the players. The comments are where players describe the hacked clients and forked servers.
Notes
This is the emotional aftermath, not a technical account of the leak. For the cause in Barth's own words use his 2011 Rock Paper Shotgun interview. The comment thread also has a player's summary of the hacked client ("goes uber-fast, can hover, walk on lava, build anything") and Barth's later reply giving permission to borrow the idea ("there's no such thing. Go on and have a blast!").
