- No-Intro "Sonic & Knuckles + Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (USA)": 4 MB, internal title "SONIC & KNUCKLES", the lock-on as one file. Its first 2 MB (`head -c 2097152`) have SHA-1 88d6499d874dcb5721ff58d76fe1b9af811192e3, MAME 0.289's megadriv software list entry "sk", mpr-16910-u.ic1, and its last 2 MB (`tail -c 2097152`) SHA-1 75e9c4705259d84112b3e697a6c00a0813d47d71, "sonic3u", mpr-16263 w43.ic1 (hash/megadriv.xml). The halves' MD5s, 4ea493ea4e9f6c9ebfccbdb15110367e and d724ea4dd417fe330c9dcfd955c596b2, are the ones sonicretro-skdisasm's build_tools/chkbitperfect.lua (L31, L37 at the pin) expects of its Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 builds, which sonic3k.asm and s3.asm assemble with `FixBugs = 0`; built at the pin, each is its half byte for byte (s3k/rom-matches-build). Locked on, the game runs the Sonic & Knuckles half's code (sonic3k.asm), whose player routines (L21900–L24500) have no `Sonic3_Complete` conditionals; the disassembly's Sonic 3 Complete target (buildS3Complete.lua) is a separate build, not this cartridge. Sonic 3 alone is s3.asm.
