The page gives the original release as 1991年7月19日, introduces Cecil as a Dark Knight of Baron, and describes the Active Time Battle system: time passes during battle, enemies act if the player does not, and this was the first game in the series to use it.

Time always flows in battle: a player who doesn't act is attacked by the enemy regardless, and some enemies transform as time passes.
